Get Help
Sometimes families hit a season where keeping everything together feels harder than it should.
Shared Family Care works alongside parents who are experiencing housing instability and other challenges that are making it difficult to maintain stability for their family. Support looks different for every family and may include help with housing, employment, budgeting, transportation, parenting support, connections to community resources, and building a stronger support system.
Our goal is simple: help families stay safely together and build lasting stability.
Looking for help for your family?
You do not need a referral from another organization to contact us.
Call Village Roots at 402-546-9900 to talk with someone about what your family is experiencing and whether Shared Family Care might be a good fit.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you call. We’ll start by getting to know you, hearing what is happening right now, and talking about what you would like to be different.
What happens next?
When you contact us, a Village Roots staff member will:
- Tell you more about Shared Family Care and answer your questions
- Learn about your family, your current situation, and what you need most
- Talk with you about your goals and the things getting in the way
- Help determine whether Shared Family Care is the right fit and what the next step should be
Reaching out does not commit you to participating in the program.
If you are a case manager, school staff member, community provider, or other professional working with a family who may benefit from Shared Family Care, you can submit a brief referral below.
You do not need to determine whether a family fully qualifies before referring them. Give us some basic information and, with the family's permission, Village Roots will contact the parent or caregiver directly.
After we receive the referral, we will reach out to the family to introduce ourselves, explain the program, learn more about what they are experiencing, and determine together whether Shared Family Care may be a good fit.
Our Commitment to Every Family
Village Roots welcomes families of all backgrounds, identities, beliefs, and family structures. We are committed to treating every person with dignity and respect and providing our services without discrimination based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, or other protected status.
